Dilated

by Wings Of Flames   May 7, 2007

Dilated

Pierced and broken pieces,
This man no longer whole,
Just a shivering aching life,
Carving fear into his soul,

Clinging to his child,
A girl with cold fingers,
Her scent of rotted flesh,
Yet his love for her still lingers,

He glances out to the world,
The subject of his blame,
The last part of innocence,
He had among his shame,

Blood leaked through her hair,
As he wished for her to stay,
All he'd loved in his arms,
So close yet so far away,

As the shimmer of sun had sunk,
His girl had fallen cold,
Goodbye wouldn't touch his lips,
As his world now would fold,

The moon rose upon the cloud,
As he began to let her go,
Dropped his last jewel in the ocean,
But the world would never know.
