Color My World

by l t b   May 7, 2007

Sometimes the dull simplicity of black and white
comes and knocks on my door and without
my permission, it seeps through the cracks while
smokingly floating over through the air and taking away
the vibrant colors in which my world consisted of.
Like a snake slithering smoothly, it begins to take over
my colorful world, my colorful world that I love so much.
I watch as my red, running rage and anger is being
stripped off my chair and replaced with gray.
Then my fun, loving orange is steadily disappearing
from the table where it once conquered.
Blue, oh calm blue, becoming a filthy color in
the distance on my dresser where my pictures stay.
Now the gray coldness engulfs the green foundation
on my floor while I sit becoming still and faint.
The walls of yellow sunshine shine strong no more
as it closes in on me, this unknown dark monster.
Painter, I need your skills to rescue me.
Brush, splatter, flick, throw all the colors
you posess and recreate my environment.
Paint back my red that gave me my passion.
Return my orange in which gave me my smile.
Give me back my blue that kept me in control.
Let my green satisfy the ground I walk upon.
And revive the yellow that was my positivity.
Painter, painter, color my world.
