He stands by the window with a sad look
his daddy took his brother on a fishing trip
and again they left him behind
they said "Your too little" and "maybe next time"
well he wiped his eyes and crossed the room
he climbed in the chair and grabbed the phone
he started punching in numbers as momma got home
she looked at him then smiled wide
"lets go fishing on our own this time"
the little boy jumped out of the chair
he raced to his room and came back in a flash
in his left hand he carried a fishing pole
and on the top of his head a baseball cap
as they walked down to the creek
he smiled very vibrantly
his momma lifted him up high
then brought him down in the blink of an eye
the day faded way to fast as the little boy cast his line
that sat there in the dusk
and watched to shadows race time
one more cast then it was time to go
the little boy thew no fit
him and momma's fishing trip came to an end
When daddy got home the next day
the little boy showed him his catch
and with a wide smile
he pointed to momma and said
"she's a good fisher better than most guys,
and she says I ain't to little to cat my line"
the little boy talked for hours about the adventure he had
then he crawled into bed and awaited the next
