All That's Left

by Avrii Monrielle   May 7, 2007

You spoiled me; I had too much of a good thing
And even though I miss you, I realize,
Though I enjoyed the time we shared,
Memories are all that's left.

I remember gazing into your eyes,
Back when you made me laugh by the second,
Back when just one action made my day;
Memories are all that's left.

I'm picturing your pearly white teeth,
As you smile a dopey grin,
I can still see your sweet smile;
Memories are all that's left.

Oh, how your bangs fall into your eyes,
As you look at the picture I drew,
Only for you;
Memories are all that's left.

One more time, I hear your voice,
Whispering into my ear; leaning in,
Further 'till you could kiss me;
Memories are all that's left.

I feel, for the last of times,
Your hand upon my own;
If only for a second,
Memories are all that's left.

Your knee as your leg intertwines with mine,
Not even noticing,
As we sit in silence;
Memories are all that's left.

Your head on my shoulder, wanting to rest,
I, slowly helping you to draw,
Softly speaking;
Memories are all that's left.

Ode to the bliss of class months ago,
Back when we were friends,
Back when I was always happy,
Memories are all that's left.

Back, long ago, when you pretended to cut me,
With a scratch of your nail upon my skin,
And I, in return, freaking you out,
Memories are all that's left.

Although I may miss you, although I need you,
You may ignore me all you wish,
But in the end, one thing will stay;
Memories are all that's left.
