In The Nightside Of Eden (Sonnet I)

by Bryan   May 7, 2007

A garden alas, my soul is left in,
While I write sonnets to my broken heart,
As love verses hate, which of them will win?
May it will heal after being torn apart.

Find love, so I can finally embrace,
Time as it rolls by, maybe it will heal,
Thoughts of my lips upon her pretty face,
Become whole again, so I can then feel.

Feel the touch of her hand while locked in mine,
But the torture I've endured, all the pain,
Like love and hate thats forever entwined,
So much anger and hate, I cant explain.

In The Nightside Of Eden I will wait,
For love to come, while I deal with hate.

Sonnet- a 14 lined poem of rhyme (abab etc. abba etc.)
first 8 lines ask a ? the last 6 answer it. 10 syllables

this is my first sonnet, i had a better version but it didnt follow the rhyme scheme, so if its a little shaky thats why!

    Comment #3:
This poem was very interesting. Unlike many love poems here on the site. And I really liked it...I like how it shows a new take on love, how its joy is short-lived for the bitterness you feel as well. Great job! 5/5 for sure.

I loved the content of the poem so much! Once again fantastic flow, great wording...

Note: "May it will heal after being torn apart"
    Shouldn't "May" be "Maybe"?
