Sculpted Lives

by Romancing the Darker Side   May 8, 2007

We are nothing but soldiers
Robots, confomists
Dedicating our lives
To fitting in, breathing
In exactly the same sequence
As every other soul

We rebel against differences
Opposites, unique things
Perfecting ourselves
To fight, hating
Everything we must
To fit into society

What is wrong with the world
When lives must be sculpted?
When differences are not accepted
Nor appreciated or cherished?

When will we learn
To believe in ourselves?
To be different and special
Unique and unconventional?

Sculpted lives and painful cries
Scream and bleed for acceptance
Why can't we all just love?
Why can't we be different?
