A Soldiers Life

by Hidden Feelings within these Words   May 8, 2007

A Soldiers dedication to our country.

Soldiers every day are sent out to fight.
Out of their homes during the day and night.
Leaving their families for days, months and even years.
Doing what's best for our country, though they fear.
Into a foreign land they go and are put to the test.
Expecting the worse and hoping for the very best.
Relying on our prayers to get them through,
Stepping into battle, do you think that's easy to do?

Liberty is what they fight for us each day.
It's hard for our soldiers to want to stay.
Fortunately they'll go and fight against all wrong.
Encouraging them we must do, to help keep them strong.

This is an acrostic poem. =)

Oh, and no periods at the end of titles. It makes the poem look ugly. =]

In the second to last line, is Fortunately supposed to be "UNfortunately"?

Great job. This poem flowed beautifully, especially with such restrictions as an acrostic. Well written and keep the ink flowing!
    5/5
