Her Enemy

by cassie   May 8, 2007

She applies her makeup,
to hide red blotchy eyes,
Puts on her smile,
Her everyday lie…
Goes through the day,
Acting like everything’s fine,
If only they knew,
How she really felt inside.
Would things change?
Or would it all be the same?
The question that’s on her mind,
Day after day…
Why can’t you just get out?!
They scream and they shout,
But they don’t even have a clue,
What her life’s about.
The crying and pain,
the hunger and rage,
She feels like an animal,
Trapped in a cage.
She looks into the mirror,
And bursts into tears,
For her reflection is her enemy,
And her enemy is her fear.
