Your gone

by Jen   May 8, 2007

You loved a game of bingo,
or developing the family tree,
you love to watch the tele,
especially the BBC.

You loved to see the grandkids,
of how they'd grow each day,
just sit and watch them closely,
the different games they'd play.

you loved a family gathering,
and a lovely drink of wine,
and now i try and write this,
and find the words to rhyme,

but no matter how hard i try,
i just find it hard to do,
you were so unique,
no words can match you.

But i will do my best,
to make this your poem,
to find the words that shine,
so ill just keep on going.

Sunday Bingo with your mother,
its what you liked to do,
enjoyed each others company,
because shes so much like you.

Now i go to dial your number,
i only want to chat,
but then i sit and remember,
i can no longer do that.

I put down the phone,
as the reality hits me,
I've never felt so alone,
this just cannot be.

and then i remember you lying there,
it was just like you were sleeping,
but i notice that you do not breathe,
i can feel my sorrow weeping.

saying good bye to you,
was oh so very hard,
a day i didn't think id get through,
i thought as i stood in your yard.

The service did you proud,
he summed you up so well,
the church filled by a big crowd,
as we said goodbye thousands of tears fell.

As they took you away,
i couldn't hold the tears,
they came pouring down my face,
touching me like spears.

this cant be it you cant be gone,
my mother tries to calm me,
hugging me so tightly,
but now i finally see....

Even though your gone,
in person your not here...
yet your soul lives on
relieving my fear.

I love you,
and miss you,
i hope you hear this,
I'm glad i had an auntie....
and I'm glad she was you!
