None More Beautiful

by Jen Eckert   May 8, 2007

There goes another,
Another broken heart.
He'd rather leave her,
Then watch her fall apart.
She falls to pieces,
She shuts and locks the door.
This is familiar
She's been here many times before.
And I have seen her,
Simply sprawled across the floor,
Cause I have been her,
And I can't take it anymore.

When you wrap your arms around him,
Do you think of all before him?
Every night you stayed up crying,
Just to help you stay alive.
There's always something in his eyes.
To numb the pain you feel inside.
Nothing else exists outside this moment,
So dance all night.

Outside the window,
There in the pouring rain,
Someone is lonely,
Nobody even knows her name.
Her eyes are empty,
She must have lost her way,
Nobody sees her,
So she will simply fade away.
She wrote a song,
They said her voice was dead and dull,
And all along,
There were none more beautiful.

When you feel the walls,
Crashing down,
And no one seems to care.
Will you give it all?
Will he save you now?
Will he even still be there?
Oh will he come through?
When the lights go dim,
And the curtains finally close?
Would he die for you,
Like you would for him?
Is there anyone who knows?

When you wrap your arms around him,
Do you think of all before him?
Every night you stayed up crying,
Just to help you stay alive.
There's always something in his eyes.
To numb the pain you feel inside.
I sing for all the tear-streaked, dark brown eyes.
May they dance all night.

I look forward to reading more ~ I enjoyed the flow, and found myself in a "tune" ~ wonder if it's the same as yours!
