Hidden Love

by theffervescent   May 8, 2007

With painful feelings in her heart
The start of each day
Is always gray.

This likeliness between him and her
Is indescribable in words.
She wants to tell him
Ah, but no
The boy's supposed to start the show.

Tacks on the wall seem threatening
She wants to piece herself and scream.
Life is too hard if you're a dove
And no one knows that you're in love
She wants to show it.
He doesn't know it.

So with painful feelings she ends each day
With her feelings stowed away.

*Doves become very sad and eventually die without a partner. It serves as a metaphorical meaning in the poem.*
