You Gotta Go There to Come Back

by Coeur Cassa Sage   May 8, 2007

Dude, it's OVER
Don't make me spell it out
I don't want to tell you again
And I don't want to scream and shout

You keep saying
I'll do better next time
Let me come back
Like an annoying little chime

You can't come back
If you were never there
Never in my heart
Never in my heart's care

You gotta go there to come back
Sorry, but I don't let people re-enter
Who have never been inside
And have never felt the center

You don't know what I am like
Because you were too busy with that other girl
Trying to enter into her space
And make her big head swirl

You can't come back
If you were never there
Never in my heart
Never in my heart's care

I LOVE the entire idea of this poem. The phrase you have to go there to come back was just perfect! I can't say enough about it! :) Amazing piece with a great message!

''make her big head swirl.'' HAHA, that made me giggle.

I enjoyed this, the opening was very strong and from there on it just kept getting better and better.
The imagery was beautifully done, and I liked the repetition you used as I thought it made the poem very powerful.
