Life in a disfunctional family

by lil angel wings   May 9, 2007

Yelling screaming, its all i hear,
Its the only sound heard when Dad is near,
Even though he knows Mum's waiting to fight,
Dad works all day, he returns at night,
I sit in my room, so scared i cry,
Constantly thinking the same question; WHY?
As Dad enters the house Mum clenches her fist,
I wonder why we have to live like this,
The fight is bad, the worst this year,
My brother and I have the same feeling; Fear, Mum throws the plates, she misses Dad,
They hit my brother, he's hurt real bad,
The medics came, they shook there head,
As they lifted my brother gently to the bed,
My brother didn't make it, he died on the way,
Dad told me as he held me, the very next day,
The service was still you couldn't hear a sound,
As his coffin was lowered slowly in to the ground,
I have nothing left except sadness in my memory,
The sadness of growing up, in a dysfunctional family.
