Picturesque

by Avrii Monrielle   May 9, 2007

I drown in your beautiful irises,
Penetrating my very core,
Your voice, like a calm, cooling wind,
Softly speaking, reaching my ears.

Staring at me, hypnotizing,
My very being until I can only see,
You, softly staring,
Straight back at me.

The crowd melts, background fades,
For I'm drowning in your eyes,
A movie reel playing inside my head,
Until we say our goodbyes.

For hours, I remember your,
Soft, raven black hair,
Which falls gently on your shoulders,
Rippling waves like an ocean.

The way you speak, enchanting everyone,
If only they saw past your grades,
They would see so much more,
A friend to everyone.

Yet, I never see anything past you,
For I'm drowning in your eyes,
Mesmerized by everything,
Cherishing the moment.

I loved your last stanza! It was a great conclusion saying how you want everyone to see their beauty, but you stop and get mesmerized in their eyes. Beautiful!
