A Pain That Lies Within (Acrostic)

by Italian Stallion   May 9, 2007

A pain that lies within,

Pouncing upon my heart.
A little every night,
I become saddened more.
Nothing tells me else wise,

The heartache stays longer.
How I wish it vanished,
And never came to me.
This heartache is too much,

Lord please help for I am sad.
Inside my heart has died,
Ending this hurtful pain.
Somehow pain still exists,

Within this loving heart.
It makes me wonder,
To no avail, what
Had went so wrong.
It had to be a love,
Near and dear to me.

Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each line spells a word, usually using the same words as in the title. Pretty straight forward, no rhyme scheme or syllable count.

I find acrostics rather hard to flow and to fit each line well with eachother yet you nailed it here. I like the title, it appealed to me and the story was heartbreaking. I could really feel the emotion throughout this one and I wouldn't change this one bit, it is a wonderful, yet painful piece. You sure have talent. :]
