Through The Eyes Of A Poet

by Hannah Emellia   May 9, 2007

Hear the somber beating,
Of a thousand bleeding hearts,
And the world cries out in anguish,
As they break and fall apart.

Look at life through another's eyes,
Perhaps from a different angle,
The worlds no longer pretty,
Like a cursed fallen angel.

All eyes see something different,
In a world of constant change,
Some just see the upside,
How it shines beyond our range,

Others know the beauty,
Of our perfect promise land,
And they shine with all their happiness,
Even in the desert sands,

The ones who are less lucky,
Could still find a small bliss,
In a child's burst of laughter,
Or in a lover's tender kiss.

I know I find my solitude,
In an alternate reality,
written from the hearts of those who love it,
A different world in poetry.

I think that this stanza is something alot of poets could relate too. Poetry helps to create whole new worlds to explore and be exposed to for I'm sure many more people than you and I. Loved this poem.

Ive never read anything so real and so true. It was great! The first stanza was a great opening...and the rest of the poem wasn't a let down. 5/5
