THE ISLANDS

by kevin Boundy AKA the ghost   May 9, 2007

Golden sands from beaches
and a Sapphire coast
its so beautiful it haunts my mind
almost like its a ghost

the sound of an outboard engine
of a 15 foot boat
trying to say the islands are a disgrace
the words would get caught in your throat

were getting closer
the islands lie just ahead
where you can forget all your troubles
and forget what was regretfully said

because the islands are heaven on earth
its why I'm writing this poem
and whenever i see the Bahamian islands
i feel like and know I'm home
