The Wall

by Israfel   May 9, 2007

Brick by brick the wall grows higher
All the hate and loneliness strengthens it even deeper
Pain is which it thrives
Tears inspire it, which should be rejected
Rejection fills its cracks
It remains sturdy and fast held
Insecurity secures it
I hide behind it for means to heal myself
Somewhere in the blackness of its shadow
Separating me from the rest
Will it ever diminish?
Can I possibly dwell in the shadows eternally?
What amount of complete compassion
Can break through?
Damage done can sometimes be undone
For damage comes from what once was good
Will it forever shadow me?
Saving me from invoking another's love
Only to be led astray once more
Trust is so easily lost, and sacrificed to gain
Thus it grows deeper, never ending...complete
Who can undo the done?
I'm in the shadows
Whose heart can lead me into the light?
Without letting the shadows grow darker
