High and Mighty

by Deana   May 9, 2007

To the self righteous ones
From your pedestal so high
You judge your brother
Destroy his pride

Angry words cast out
Like poison in the wind
Little bits of damage
To the soul trying to mend

Thoughtless,cruel expressions
Mistakes you can`t abide
Categorizing,demoralizing
Aiding his spirits demise

Classifying,stereotyping
What gives you the right
With stone in hand,
Have you made no mistakes in your life?

It must feel wonderful
To be perfect in ones own eyes
You preach,you scold
You come out on top,as you prioritize

You stand upon lifes podium
An example for all to see
And yet a humble heart still cries
Don`t let that ever be me

Over lifes many obstacles
We stumble we fall
While realizing its not our place
To make our brother crawl

You just might find happiness
Step off your throne and see
Come and wallow for a while
With the lowly ones like me.
