I Am A Waterfall

by Katie Avans   May 10, 2007

One of nature's wonders,
I fall and continue to flow.
When you see me,
I'm a sight to behold.

I've not always been me,
I started out a stream.
You used to hike beside me,
And drink from my pure water.

I remember your shaunter,
Every step that you tred.
Soon I grew big and strong,
A mighty river I've become.

You would picnic right beside me,
And ride my rapid waves.
But now you stand before me,
With that hatred look in your eyes.

Your kin was having fun,
And jumped from my peak.
Now you fear me,
For one of my tweaks.

But you were warned,
A warning not heeded.
You chose to be bold,
And twist your luck.

Now you have been warned,
And what will you do?
Will I amuse you from a distance,
Or will I become a hinderance?

I am a waterfall.
A creation of natures twisted bauties.
