Want Not

by Rustedwings   May 10, 2007

I try for merely a moment
to turn a blind eye from my heart unto you
So as not to succumb
to that which my heart screams ,
that my head deems,
I not follow

Oh! but such brilliance can be seen,
by even the most cataract eyes,
a smile can't disguise,
the sorrow that lies

In a face that watches you
pondering, wandering
straying from me
Who's waited here so long
stayed here so strong
in the faith that you've given

If only you'd take my hand
in the promise I'll stand,
by you,
through day and through night,
through wrong and through right,
through darkness and light

These bonds, these chains, these reigns
Oh lead me asunder sweet jockey, sweet rocky
Road upon which I stumble
As I go on my heart it doth mumble
Your name and my creed
Of all the faith I'll need

But I know you not want,
The crown with which I'd make you a queen
Crown of roses and thorns
And all that adorns, my soul
and all that I am

So I'll not bother to ask you again
