Fade Away with Light

by Just Jade   May 10, 2007

As I walk towards the gathered group,
I hear tears of sadness and grief.
I see them stare at the tiny coffin,
And watch a familiar face but only brief.

A man holds a pure white box,
And slowly holds it high.
Colorful, pretty butterflies,
Fly towards the sky.

The coffin begins to lower.
The tears begin to flow.
I seem a little distant.
My pace begins to slow.

As people begin to leave,
The gravestone comes to sight,
My name rests upon it.
I fade away with the light.

A very beautiful poem that showed not only the grief of the person who passed but of the family and friends of that person, It also shows everyones worst nightmare, going to there own funeral....
