You taught me to Fly

by Lithium   May 10, 2007

When the rain would fall down,
I would stare out my window,
I would pray for a dream,
Through the clouds and snow,

I felt like no one could hear me,
Like I didn't belong,
Until you came,
I felt my presence was wrong,

Out of the darkness,
And into the sun,
You brought me hope,
The only one,

With the wishes I made,
And the dreams you found,
Your voice became,
Love's sweetest sound,

You're the warm breeze,
Bringing me a summers day,
On the coldest night,
You find the right words to say,

As I feel the rush of the ocean,
Beneath my soul,
I knew you brought me something,
That made me whole,

I'll do what it takes,
Till I touch your heart,
The way you entered mine,
And took the biggest part,

All the poems could never express,
The love I hold inside,
And the hope that soon one day,
I'll be your loving bride.

Dedicated to Scott Clarke, I love you.
