My angel

An angel came but he wasn't here to stay,
how broken our heart's were that day..
so deeply loved,
but needed in heaven above..
our souls were crushed,
he was gone all to soon.

he was so perfect in every way,
and all to soon he was taken away..
to good for this world, he was needed elsewhere..
the sorrow and grief was just so hard to bare.

why him? we asked?
and received no reply..
as tears trickled down from the corner's of our eyes,
a life was cut so short..
we just didn't understand.

life can be so unfair,
and to easily we forget..
just one precious chance,
why is that all we get?

an angel without wings,
not a day this life brings.
when we don't feel that you're near,
and just wished you were here..
it just wasn't meant to be,
although we couldn't see..
why such a tragedy came to be.
