Cure for the itch

by Espoirfailed   May 10, 2007

You say I'm the epitome of elegance
And the personification of flair
But I'm seeking the quintessence
A joy not to be shared.

And so maybe I've been searching
Since the summer of '89.
But now I'm conjuring illusions
Just to fill the time.

And the winter took its toll,
On the faces of the past.
And the woodland path still shelters
The danger that couldn't last.

So the sorrow that lines my skin,
Is so much more deep rooted,
And for my exotic fabrications,
I am worldly reputed.

And the story behind my eyes
Is as insincere as a sales pitch
Craving indefinite answers,
And my cathartics cure for the itch

Wow this poem is amazing it actually made me have to grab a dictionary in order to understand everything (which is kind of embarrassing to admit), but I liked that because that means that you didn’t use saturated words or anything like that. I really liked how you described everything.. well done. such a powerful image that you've shown in this peice. It truely is a masterpeice, and you should be very proud of it. I really loved it.. well done.

This poem reminded me of a poem that I could read in a magazine or whatever by a professional writer, haha. I honestly loved this. Your used of words fit and you told the story maturely without going off course. Once again, I enjoyed reading this. =]

The word usage here was wonderful, and I liked the references to different literary techniques. Everything was excellently written to a tee. A joy to read.

The word choice here was just.. amazing.
    Simply amazing.
The flow was excellent. Everything basically fit together well. I haven't got a bit of criticism for it. And that's rare with myself and poems.
    Very nice job. :]
