Pour The Whiskey

by Diemmy   May 10, 2007

Sitting in a dimly lit bar
Hunched over yet another glass
Sighing in between sips
Because she's all he really has
But she doesn't know
How much she means to the guy
Clueless to what she puts him through
Oblivious to his painful sigh
It's his seventh one tonight
He really doesn't know what to do
But to just pour another
If only she knew...
He yearns for more than friendship
Wishes he could make his intentions clear
Longs for her to understand
The feelings he holds so dear
But the poor guy's too afraid
Too scared that she'll turn away
So he just pours another
And waits for the coming of the day
This is all he is able to do
Indulge in his drink and try to be tough
Mutter the truth beneath his breath
As if that alone were enough
So he just pours another
Depressed that fate sets them apart
For this hopeless fool
A drunk mind reveals a sober heart
