Confessed

What is this that binds me
clasping at my heart?
A trap you've wrapped around it
as if in fineries of art

No heavy leaden bands
or constricting lines of steel
With sweeping strokes of kindness
fate of my love you seal

I don't mean to push it in your face
but I can barely stand it anymore
I know you may not like this
but listen I implore

With twists of fading patience
another part that I adore
you paint a lasting picture
of love forevermore

I started as a fool
Who saw you as does any other
Became a friend you trusted
And seemed to you a brother

I told you once upon a time
What it was I felt
With hopes that my poems
would seem to make you melt

I wasn't as I am now
I've changed a lot you see
All this is and what I feel
You have instilled in me

Never think that what you are
is anything but priceless
you deserve the best there is
to be worshiped as was Isis

Each time I've watched silently
As you gave away your heart
I would hold it close in safety
to all my love impart
