Envelope

Familiar hand-writing
Suppressing the scream
it invokes leaves me
light headed.

I don't read it,
but I can't throw it away.

I hang it in my bedroom
as a reminder of why
I hate you.

At night it glows.
In the darkness
a faint red.
Our favorite color.

It keeps me awake
like a neon sign.

Closing my eyes wakes me up
with no letter from you.
