Silence

Silence is the only thing I'll give
For the attitude you gave
I thought that you were my friend
But you sent my voice to the grave

Now I'm sitting here
And your thinking of me
Of why I won't talk
And why our friendship can't be

The answers are not hard to find
All you have to do is look inside
At the soul I swear is black
Dark like the midnight tide

This poem is all you will receive
Don't expect me to talk
I will give you this poem
Then away I will walk

So pardon the long silence
When it becomes a pain
Nothing will pass between us
Like dry space within the rain
