The power of a dream

by Nathan Hickling   May 11, 2007

Building tall, a dream makes the world,
Falling fast, it ends the planed.

What is a dream,
Is it really just neurons firing,
Or is it something more.
A hope of the mind,
Our souls showing what we truly desire.

A dream can raise us higher than mountains,
Souring above the clouds, nothing weighing us down,
A smile, a laugh, nothing can cause us to frown.

Then a dream can end it all.
Bringing us falling crashing to the ground,
Down into the pit of despair, we cry alone,
Surrounded by the void, we cry alone.

For good or evil,
For life or death,
For hopes and happiness,
Or sadness and despair,
A dream can do all these things,
Why do we dream?
