I woke up in a rush for cheer
as someone told me something i didn't want to hear
i covered my ears and cried
as she repeated I'm sorry he died
things didn't make sense anymore
all i wanted to do was run out the door
but i listened to what happened in fright
jimmy was crossing the crosswalk light
when he looked over and saw a car
it hit him as he flew 100 far
he suffered for hours until he died
were sorry jimmy we all tried
