The Scrap Of Metal (Man to Mouse)

by XSugarSexSuicideX   May 11, 2007

Jagged edges
Tipped with blood,
A scrap of metal
In the mud.
It started with
A moonlight walk,
A moment alone,
Just to talk.
She saw it first,
A glisten in the night,
She was drawn towards it
Without a fight.
As she walked,
He smiled and thought
Of how beautiful she was,
The happiness she brought.
All of a sudden,
He heard a scream,
High-pitched and eerie
From the depths of the gleam.
He ran towards it
Shouting with worry,
As he did, he saw
A tiny mouse scurry.
With disregard, he stopped
And looked in the mud,
A jagged scrap of metal,
Tipped with blood.
He looked all around
For his girlfriend,
And stepped on the metal
And came to his end.
His blonde hair turned black,
And his nose pointed,
As his nails grew sharp,
What a way to be dead!
Now if you decide
To go on that walk,
To stride down that path
So that you can talk,
Just remember what happened
To this party of two,
Look out for the gleam
Else you'll be a mouse too.
