Forever Midnight

It comes to me, this dead of night
A whisper faint against my ear
Heralding me, to feet give flight
And hide among the shadow's fear.

Make haste upon my fleeting breath
Tend to the comforts of the shade
For this will be what brings my death
So quickly move before it fades.

On feet that carry me I'm driven
Upon the moon's caress I hide
Lend not a vision of fate delivered
But with new strength, take wing and fly.

From depths of slumber, I was awaken
To flee this lonely night of pain
Into the realm of hurt forsaken
A lost reflection now to claim.

Forever lost in depths of darkness
To crush the light that tries to breathe
Inside the shadows of the sorrow
That clings to every part of me.

Now in the faded shards of turmoil
I slowly step among the pain
Tattered scars upon my heartache
Dipped inside of Midnight's reign.
