Cold of the rain.

by Holly   May 12, 2007

In this storm
with the rain beating down
on my bare skin
wash away these feelings for him
free my soul of this embrace...

Wave my hands towards the sky...
Say your last goodbye.
For tomorrow, the sun shines again.
Bring with me my umbrella....
For when the storm rushes in...

And the thunder and lightning...
It all seemed so frightening
to walk all alone...

But with the cold of the rain...
And the echos of pain...
I found my way back home.

The wind may be blowing
And the sun may be showing...
But your love has gone away...

When the spider crawls up the water spout
Then the rain trickled down...
And knocked the spider out...
And he drowned in the early morning rain.

Well his legs may be long
and his web may be strong...
But it isn’t enough to detain.
So, whisper those words that carry in the wind...
Cause all I can hear is the rain.
