I never liked the game, always taking place in rain,
A cold dark night, though this doesn't feel quite right,
Two cars take the street, each about to compete,
I'm in the driver's seat, you're inside the other car,
I know one of us is dead meat, I know you are,
Put the pedal to the floor, push it down a little more,
Race toward each other, hear the squealing rubber,
Driving so fast, who will take the pass,
I won't give in, I won't let you win,
You don't want to lose, so you'll have to choose,
You decide you'll have to swerve, because I don't possess the nerve,
You jerk the wheel, shove the brake down with your heel,
The race ends, but no one wins,
The two cars hit, mine flies off-road into a pit,
My car flips down into the creek, as you climb out unable to speak,
You go completely white, looking upon the sight,
You find your way down to me, what a grisly sight to see,
I somehow survive the wreck, know I'll only live a sec,
You climb inside, make it to my side,
After all the toll, my mind races out of control,
Just say don't go, you could have just said no,
Don't let go, hold on tight,
Act like it's not so, with all your might,
I wish I could stay alone with you forever, always with us together,
I see the light, it pulls me in,
God, it's such a pretty sight, it's going to win,
You pull your hand away, as my hand goes limp,
You walk away, just like wimp,
Now you're standing in black, clear in the back,
The faces turned away in shame, knowing I lost the game,
The box goes down, into the ground,
The tear-stained faces, the wretched sound,
You manage to force a tear, there's nothing left to fear,
Everyone thinks, "Oh he must've loved her," but that's the end, it's all over,
The area clears all out, there's no people all about,
You seem troubled in your thoughts; hold on to the only pride you've got,
You lay roses upon my grave, as I give a ghostly wave,
You let out a sigh, and look up into the sky,
I never said the reason why, I did what I had to, to die,
I died to be with you, because you're a ghost too,
I stand from sitting on the tombstone, and know now that I'm not alone,
I walk right up to you, not knowing what to do,
Finally understanding the plan, to live together in the ghostly land,
I knew he loved me, and he always will,
He loved me then, and he loves me still,
Now we can be together, now and forever,
Standing in front of you, I grab the hand of the other part of me,
The love we share will always be true; we walk away, just me and you.
