My Mother

by Goran Rahim   May 13, 2007

So many times
She remained hungry In order to feed me.
When I was in pain,
She didn't sleep crying with me.

I remember once I was ill
Doctors told her I will die.
With her teary eyes,
She begged the doctors
To say it was a lie.

In this special day
I don't know what to recall,
What anguish that she took because of me?
How she gave up all the happiness of her life,
Just to see me happy.

Happy mother's day my dear mom,
You are truly the greatest mother.
I hope to see your smile forever,
If you are ever sad, I die rather.

Wow this is such a sweet poem. my mother is the same way she would give up everything and anything in order to make sure me and my sister are happy and healthy. I'm glad that your mother is the same way. This poem shows a very strong woman. Such a sweet tribute. The only critique I have is the last line, "I'd die rather" I know its set up that way to make it rhyme but it doesnt sound right.
