Abused child part three

by Vanessa   May 13, 2007

The baby now four, the mother eighteen
Up till now it has seemed all a dream
Near graduation, working part time
Quick smile from her girl, eases her mind

The mother is loving, happy and carefree
Surprisingly not haunted by all she did see
She's been though a lot, in her short life
Happier still she's soon to be a wife

Two little hands put flowers in a vase
Two little feet climbing stairs at a slow pace
Standing in front of the mirror ready to go
Handing her the vase, Mommy I love you so

She meet her future husband, after work
She thought him to be another hungry jerk
But once they started talking she did find
That he is the last one of a dying kind

He held onto her daughter like she was his own
She'd never tell but into her heart, he's grown
They all laugh, and together they play
Suddenly he stands with something to say

My life was meaningless before I met you
I thought it was over, I thought I was threw
Happier now than I have ever been in my life
I am delighted that your going to be my wife

Tears slipped out the connor of her eye
Slowly she let out a happy little sigh
Holding her daughter on her lap
Getting her ready to take her nap

Ten thirty in the morning, she is in all white
Butterflies in her stomach, keep her up all night
Her father walks her down the carpeted isle
Careful to show his wonderful smile

Her mother dabs at her eyes with wadded tissue
When you move we are all going to miss you
He mother embraces her like she did that first day
Her father head bowed, has nothing to say

Three long years later, they want a little boy
Unable to conceive, another bundle of joy
They go to the home where she had been found
Sign some paper and take a look around

There in the conner, hiding against the wall
Stood a little boy, not more than 3 feet tall
His hands were in pockets, his head was down
On his face he carried a sad disturbing frown

His file said beaten, molested, and just left to die
But there was a unmistakable look in his eye
The fear was too much, the hatred so free
Thinking to herself, my god he looks like me

Her husband saw her mind at its best
He dared not even think to protest
They signed the paper making him theirs
And went to work showing him they care

Perfectly happy the four of them are
Singing songs and wishing on stars
All of the madness, that once entered in
Turned into true happiness within
