Darkness

by Maelle   May 13, 2007

Depression brought me to this shadowed pit,
Where darkness consumes us, where life is wrung dry,
Free of laughter, happiness and joy,
Where none escape, and bloody fingers grasp
The last remains of a fading hope.

Here I am, bleeding among the others,
A mere corpse, watching with detached horror,
As an invisible will severs my limbs,
And leaves me here, broken beyond repair.

The darkness only shreds me more,
More confetti in a crimson waterfall,
delving down to the heart of despair:
Tears of blood in a raging sea...

Here we all are, left alone, to decay,
Left to ourselves, free to dwell upon our fate,
The blood red waves, taking away our scent.
Yet here we remain, forever and fore after,
Senselessly clinging to our hope of life...
