Perfect Mother's Day

by Sherry Lynn   May 14, 2007

Today was the perfect day
Sunshine glistening upon my face
Sounds of laughter ringing loud
Wind bristling through my hair

All four children together
Playing joyfully outside
Forgetting that one must return
Locked up once again tonight

Walking the flea market
With no end in sight
Finding sweet bargains
For each child of mine

Shopping for clothes
Haircuts too
Each child repeating
Thanks and I love you

A perfect day
Ended way too soon
Tears now shed
As one child must return
