Lover Undercover

by Jenni Marie   May 14, 2007

Sitting silently by herself
Listening for his voice
Nerves fluttering everywhere
Wondering if she made the right choice.

Waiting patiently for recognition
As he simply walks on by
Keeping eyes level with the ground
So he's unable to see her cry.

Dreaming about him every day
Her love for him shining through
If he could see into her eyes
He'd know her love was true.

Alas, she was afraid to look at him
For fear he might recognise
The love, longing and secrecy
Betrayed within her eyes.
