Anticipating the End

by Sorefromreality   May 14, 2007

I knew I saw it coming
From the very start
it's a d^amn good thing
I never gave you my heart

I won't hold on to something
That wants me to let go
I won't hurt myself again
This time around, I know.

What we had was average
Now I know, it wasn't great
It wasn't love, or even lust
And certainly wasn't fate

Nothing hurts me anymore
When pain is all I've felt
No one makes me heart "skip a beat"
No one's touch makes me melt

It wasn't ideal, the way you left
Like you never gave a d^amn
Thanks for proving you weren't worth my time
I'm sorry you couldn't be a man

Nice poem. It was short, but it brought the point through. I liked the ending especially, it's a nice poem to read when you just get out of a breakup. It'll help, I know it helped me:). Makes you feel as though he's not even worth you, coz he's just a boy confused and derranged :P...

I like how the angry and emotions come across in this. At least you aren't upset over it, you know that it just wasn't right. A great poem, flowing nicely and rhyming well. I can relate to this a lot also. 5/5 =]
