Where Did They Go?

by LithiumSacrifice   May 15, 2007

Where Did They Go?

When you need them the most,
They disappear.
When they always swear to you,
That they will always be here.

When you reach out,
For a tiny bit of aid.
You get nothing,
But a broken day that could've been saved.

It is that your lacking air,
Your lungs are yearning to breathe.
It seems to be that same moment,
When the people around decide to leave.

It's that same time when an angel falls,
Is lying broken on the ground.
An angel reaching for the simple hand,
And everyone turns their backs around.

Your world just shatters.
You /are/ all alone.
Everyone else knows you're there.
But you are on your own.

In the bed of lies
You want what is right
Everyone pretends they don't know
Or that in the end you will be alright

How much is the truth,
Whenever they would swear,
What good is a promise worth,
When they wont even be there?

I especially like the poem because of the question it asked. Great title, too.
