Desire, Hunger and Pain

by Vanessa   May 15, 2007

Holding a blade just under her chin
"Scream and I will cut you again"
He whispers his voice steady and calm
"How long will your husband be gone?"
Unmarried, she looks down at her hand
Showing him she wears no wedding band.
Tyeing her to a wooden back chair
She was uneasy, because he was there.
She tired to ease her growing fears
Although it didn't slow her flowing tears.
By going to the happy place inside her head
Fear that in moments, she'd be dead

Driven by some unseen force, so strong
Endlessly looking for a place to belong
Scents drift in though the open window
Igniting him tormented soul
Reaching out for someone to hold
Everything inside him is so cold

He rummages from room to room
Spreading his impending doom
Looking for a fortune to steal
There is nothing he can feel
She tries to wiggle free, from her rope
For a brief instant she feels hope
Thinking she might regain control
The chill enters her soul
Thinking her life is in danger, of this man
She feels the rope cut into her hand
Blood dripping down fingers, onto the floor
She wonders what he's doing this for.

Heated from a fire within
Unaffected he is killing again
Numb now where he once felt pain
Growing fear, leaves him insane
Endangering himself with the life
Raping and murdering, with his knife

Walking slowly she enters the hall
Hurrying to the phone, to make the call
Careful she's not seen, or even heard
So unsure she can say a word
Looking over her shoulder she dialed 9 1 1
He glaces at her, realizing what she's done
She runs for the door an effort to escape
But not even she could out run her fate
He slapped her down, blood flew to the floor
"What are you doing this for?"
She screamed at him as he hit again
Possessed by demons that live within

Painfully he relives the past
Almost always the images last
Indifferent to the screams, he kills
Nothing, is what he feels

Cursing him like she knew his whole life
He placed at her throat his rusted knife
Standing over her still on the floor
She screams "I don't want to live anymore!"
"Just kill if that what you are going to do"
"I am not afraid of the likes of you"
He released his hold, and moved his knife
Giving her the chance to end his life
With a letter opener she stabbed him in his eye
Screaming "Die why won't you die"
The sheriff busted in the locked door
Softly saying "He won't hurt you anymore"
