Humble servant

by Emily   May 16, 2007

"Please, kind Queen, don't ask much of me today,
For I am feeling unwell and probably can't do anything anyway."

"You look so sickly, my favourite servant, is everything alright?
Did you start feeling unwell when you spoke to your man last night?"

"Yes! how did you know, does my face give it away?"

"No, no, no, child, but I see this kind of thing everyday...
For you are so love sick and are worn down from him,
Being knocked around like that must be a mortal sin!"

"*sigh* but I love him and I don't expect you to understand,
for me he seems like the most wonderful person in the land."

"You are right, humble servant, I cannot get what you saying,
For that matter, I don't know why you are staying.
He treats you like dirt and pushes you around,
Even his friends spit at you and knock you to the ground.
You cannot just sit and take it I'm afraid it isn't right,
He's doing this to you out of cold, manly spite.
You have to tell me why you are being so loyal and why so stay with him even when you are dim!"

"Because, your highness...I love him."
