A Thousand Years

by Tony   May 16, 2007

We could walk through the gardens tonight,
Read the ancient stars by candlelight,
Dance unseen among the shadows there
And wrap our dreams inside your golden hair.

Wait for me there,
Flirt with the moon until I show,
We'll kiss like ghosts that meet upon the stair,
Just like a thousand years ago.

I can hear your voice across the breeze,
See your face in autumn's burning trees.
We can walk through broken colonnades
And in the sunset we will fade.

Wait for me there,
Hidden from the mortal crowds,
We'll embrace like ghosts that meet upon the stair,
Just like a thousand years from now.
