Who is she?

by lonelynow   May 16, 2007

She's the girl sitting alone
Watching others live their lives
You may have seen her
But you probably haven't
And if you did
You may have mistaken her
For a shadow
A ghost

She's the girl who does OK in school
Average
She doesn't stand out
Too shy to try
And if she did
You probably wouldn't notice
Wouldn't see
Wouldn't care

She's the girl who doesn't eat
But she has nobody to lie to
Spends lunch alone
You wouldn't spend it with her
And if you did
You wouldn't care about
The tears falling
Onto her empty bag

She's the girl who doesn't talk
Though she has plenty to say
Her thoughts shout
But nobody listens
And if you did
You would dismiss
What you hear
As attention seeking

She's the girl who died last week
Now everybody knows her name
Tries to remember encounters with her
But they never tried to be friends
And if you had
You would have known
What a wonderful thing
Was wasting away
