If I Had Wings

by ben thompson   May 17, 2007

If I had wings, together we'd soar
in majestic flight.
Streaking streams of sliver
adorning velvet nights.

Great wings of golden feathers
forged of metal not foul.
Mystifying and marvelously magical
I dare not ask how.

Passionate topaz skies meet our
embrace in cotton clouds.
Stealthily gliding across midnight
without making a sound.

Ancient majestic peaks as immense
as they are grand.
Like the endurance of our love,
forever hand in hand.

Our spirits becoming one, brilliantly
luminous is their glow.
Just a word from your soft lips
I shall make it so.

Dancing across sunny rays, relishing
the beams of the moon.
If only in my dreams then,
maybe someday soon.

This stanza is really beautiful. I can imagine being one with my husbands spirit when my time comes. Excellent write.
