A Different Situation

What has happened to us?
We've taken a step back.
It's not the strength to pretend,
But the capacity, that we lack.
We deny our love.
We hide our pain.
Yet, at the end of the day
Misery is all we've gained.

Answer me truthfully,
With a "yes" or a "no,"
From the depths of your heart,
Do you love me so?
And on what conditions
Is it that you can show me?
Just in private?
Where no on else can see?

Our situation's different,
But you must make a choice.
What do you want of me?
Come on now, use your voice!

Yes, it's a huge decision
That will affect you life.
It'll either make it easier,
Or as rough as a jagged knife.
But if you don't make a decision,
I will be forced to.
I'll make a choice at which
Will kill me to do.

So what is your answer?
What will you say to the world?
Do you love or do you hate?
Do you think this could be fate?

If it is hate, you've lead me
To believe a horrible lie.
Put me out of my misery
Let my hope finally run dry.
But if it is love that you feel,
It's now that you should speak.
Take me forever in your arms,
And make my knees go weak.

Time isn't running out,
But your chance could forever be lost.
You won't be the only one regretting,
I too will pay the cost.

Take the risk, girl.
Let it be known how you feel.
End the tragic heartache.
Make your "...happily ever after" real.
