Thin Lines

by debbylyn   May 17, 2007

Life spilled in cheap ringed folders
Thin lines flow red to black
Nothing gained but older
Burnt pages don't turn back

Words wrought from blistered fingers
Thin lines that won't be read
Ink smudged teardrops linger
Sin shards from liar's bed

A poet's tortured mind breaks
Loose paper soul's delight
Thin lines embracing heartache
As minutes splay the night

Very beautifully worded. Though the lines are short its having great meanings in it and are clearly expressed. I enjoyed all the lines in this piece.

A little harder to read because it doesn't have many filler words (which may be the contest you did it for) but it was incredibly good with imagery and the such.
