Forgive Me, Brother

by Israfel   May 17, 2007

Please, dear brother, forgive me
I know that I've lied to you
But the truth would have made you cry
And I couldn't do that to you

I know that even though you don't really know me
You think the world of me
But I'm not that great
Not even close

Still you claim that you love me
More dearly than anyone else
You say that I'm an angel
But can't you see these black wings?

You tell me it's not my fault
That I should forget it
And not resurrect the memories
Of what I've supposedly done

I'm sorry, dear brother
But I can't do that
I know it was my fault
I know that I can't forget

But don't cry, dear brother
Because I won't leave you
I promised, remember?
So please, just forgive me

Just this once
Everything will be alright

You told me once that if you could fly
You'd come and take me away from here
And truthfully, I'd jump into your arms in a second
And let you carry me away

Wow, seems more like at sad poem to me... But I love it. I don't really have a favorite stanza, I liked it at a whole though.
